Rooting Every Partnership in Creativity,

Care, and Integrity.

The JustArts Approach

Through reciprocal partnerships, accessible services, and participatory public programming, JustArts seeks to shift power, cultivate care, and expand the reach and impact of artistic labor too often hidden from view. We want to ensure that artists inside feel seen, supported, and integral to our creative communities, and that our partners and collaborators outside are moved to reflect, reimagine, and take collective action.

At JustArts, our approach is grounded in a simple but powerful belief: art can transform the way we see ourselves, one another, and the world.

A mural features a large, leafless tree with colorful butterflies on its branches. A human figure with no head, holding its chin with one hand, stands in the foreground. The background depicts a highway scene with a green road sign reading 'Rest Area 2 Mile Please Socially Distant' and a speed limit sign of 77.

From Principles to Practice.

At JustArts, the values that inform our principles aren’t abstract. They guide our everyday decisions, relationships, and commitments, both inside and outside the gallery.

    • Every project is built on trust, creativity, and mutual respect.

    • Services are tailored to meet each partner’s goals, fostering connection—not control.

    • We co-create with directly-impacted artists and communities whenever possible.

    • A sliding scale pricing model ensures cost is never a barrier to impact.

    • We consider organizational size, funding sources, and regional cost differences.

    • Open conversations help us build transparent, equitable partnerships.

    • Artists contributing to consulting or creative work are fairly compensated.

    • Artists share in service earnings through mutually-determined percentage models.

    • Consulting revenue helps fund materials, shipping, and communication for artists inside.

    • We’re open with collaborators and clients about how artists are involved and paid.

    • We don’t make decisions that impact partnerships without the participation of all involved.

    • Our work actively challenges exploitative practices and centers justice-driven creative collaborations that honor dignity, autonomy, and trust.

At JustArts, equity isn’t just a principle—it’s a practice. Every partnership is an opportunity to build a more just, loving, and creative world.
